Leonid Shamban, DO, is a board-certified physician, widely respected for his patient-focused care at G.I. Medicine Associates, P.C. in St. Clair Shores and Macomb, Michigan.
Dr. Shamban received his Doctor of Osteopathy from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan, where he currently serves as the clinical associate professor. He finished his medical training in internal medicine at St. John Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan, and was the chief resident during his third year of training.
He went on to complete his gastroenterology fellowship at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Michigan.
Dr. Shamban has been a presenter and publisher of original papers and abstracts on various topics in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He is a peer reviewer for various gastroenterology journals and also speaks fluent Russian.
Board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, he also has memberships with the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Gastroenterological Association, and American College of Gastroenterology.
